1946 Analog by Sean Hanrahan
Handmade Stencil Screen Print on Paper
90 x 51 cm Unframed
Sean is a multidisciplinary artist working predominantly in fine art printmaking and photography. His work has a stylized aesthetic heavily influenced by 20th century design, with colour references inspired by various movements and periods of art history. These elements have informed the compositional structure of his recent work, such as the ‘Decades’ series of analogue silkscreens, including the ‘1946’ editions. By introducing analogue cutout stencils into the silkscreen process he could explore, deconstruct and manipulate silkscreen printing to create a purist expression.
